I sought this device out when I was looking for something that would work as well as the Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask I’d just begun using failed. I got several different types of devices and this one is the stand out among them. I’m thrilled with my purchase. There’s a huge variety of options for treatment and I’ve only really used 2 so far.
I use the blue light combined with the ultrasonic treatment for about 2 minutes a day and sometimes add 2 minutes of red light to it too. The instructions say I think to use this every few days…but I have to use it daily or my acne regresses. Once I figured that out it took about a weeks time to completely clear up my medium to severe cystic acne. Since I’m just at that point now, I haven’t yet figured out a good maintenance program but will update this when I do.
Overall this product is superior I think to Neutogena’s. Yes it costs more but only for a few months then the activator refills weigh against the mask overall price and this becomes the most cost efficient option. It is also more powerful, offers more variety and utility and takes less time…2 minutes versus 10. While it’s not as relaxing and does require the use of a conductive agent…for the agent any noncomodogenic moisturizer will probably do…I still seem to prefer this. But having both is great too if you have the option!
I’m using this along with another red light facial cleaning brush I really like too, which I’ll also review.
